Community Advisory Board (CAB): Seeking Applicants!


Contra Costa County Seeks Applicants for Community Advisory Board on Public Safety Realignment 

(Martinez, CA) - Contra Costa County is seeking applicants who are interested in serving on its 15-member Community Advisory Board (CAB) on Public Safety Realignment. The CAB currently has vacancies for one (1) Voting Member seat, three (3) Alternate Member seats and effective January 1, 2022, will have vacancies for three (3) additional Voting Member seats.

The CAB was established by the Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) Executive Committee in December 2012 to provide input on community needs and encourage outcomes that are consistent with the County's Reentry Strategic Plan.

The CAB is composed of 12 Voting Members and 3 Alternate Members with expertise in workforce development, behavioral health issues, post-release reentry services, services for reentering women, criminal and drug court, crime survivors, domestic violence prevention, adult education within a correctional setting, and law and policy related to issues of the formerly incarcerated. 

All CAB members either live or work in Contra Costa County. Members of the community touched by the justice system in some way, criminal justice reform advocates, people who have worked with justice involved populations, and anyone interested in public safety issues are all encouraged to apply.

Appointments to the CAB will be for one year with a term limit of three years. The CAB meets on a monthly basis on the second Thursday of each month from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. CAB members also serve on its three subcommittees that each meets on a monthly basis. All members serve on the CAB and its subcommittees without compensation, stipends, or reimbursement of expenses, and the selection of members are intended to reflect the geographic, ethnic, and racial diversity of Contra Costa County. 

Applicants will be invited to a virtual public interview process conducted by the CAB’s Outreach & Community Engagement Subcommittee (OCEC). This subcommittee will then recommend a selection of applicants for the full CAB to nominate to the Community Corrections Partnership for appointment.
