April 20, 2018, Rodeo, CA – Due to unforeseen circumstances, Contra Costa County Public Works will move the ribbon cutting ceremony to Saturday, May 12, to celebrate the improvements to Lefty Gomez Park Complex. Contra Costa County Supervisor Federal Glover, the Rodeo Baseball Association, and the Public Works Department are pleased to host the celebration of this recently completed project.
The improvements include design and construction of a new concession building “Snack Shack” that includes a restroom, announcers stand, commercial kitchen, and extra storage. Throughout the park, visitors will be able to enjoy the installation of seating in the ballfield, improved ground surface to support better accessibility, additional drinking fountains, installation of group BBQ and picnic tables as well as upgraded drainage.
“We believe with the combined efforts to complete the upgrades, Rodeo residents and baseball enthusiasts will welcome the improvements to the Lefty Gomez Park Complex” proclaimed Supervisor Federal Glover.
This project is the result of a collaborative effort with Contra Costa County Supervisor Federal Glover, the Rodeo Municipal Advisory Council, County Service Area R-10 Citizens Advisory Committee, John Swett Unified School District, the Public Works Department and community.
The project was funded by East Bay Regional Park District Measure WW Funds, Park Dedication Funds, and Contra Costa County.
