The Board of Supervisors has advanced 5 applicants for further consideration for the vacant position of District Attorney. Those applicants will attend a public forum on August 15, 2017, at 6:00 p.m., in the Board of Supervisors Chamber at 651 Pine Street in Martinez. A public comment period will be held prior to the forum; if you would like to attend and provide your comments, that portion of the event will begin at 5:00 p.m. Comments will be taken both in writing and in person up until 6:00 p.m.
More than 200 written questions were submitted online for consideration earlier this month. Those were shared with the forum moderator, and they will be used for questions to be posed to the applicants during the first half of the forum.
If you attend tomorrow, you can also suggest additional questions in writing up until 6:00 p.m. Volunteers from the League of Women Voters will be on hand to collect written question submissions at that time.
You'll find more information on the District Attorney Recruitment Information website. Questions and public comment will be taken in person on the evening of the 15th.
The five applicants who are continuing in the process are: Diana Becton, Danielle Douglas, Paul Graves, Thomas Kensok and Patrick Vanier.
If you are interested in reviewing the applications submitted by those five as well as the other seven who applied, you can also find those on District Attorney Recruitment Information website.
