Due to COVID-19, the Public Works Department has temporarily shifted our manner of operations to protect public health. Our lobby is currently closed, however all department services are available and can be provided by phone, email, or scheduling an appointment.

Public Works staff is available to assist customers

Monday – Thursday 7am - 5pm

Friday 7am – 4pm, closed 12-1 on Fridays only

The Public Works Department Capital Projects Division has been very busy. With two major projects this year in the City of Martinez alone. Namely the new consolidated Emergency Operations Center/Public Safety Building (EOC/PSB) which was completed in June and The County Administration Building (CAO) which was completed in July/August.  Click on the pictures below for current details about these projects.

  1. Iron Horse Trail Construction Work-Pleasant Hill/Walnut Creek

    NBC Construction & Engineering will be improving landscaping along the Iron Horse Trail, between Treat Boulevard & Mayhew Way, in Pleasant Hill/Walnut Creek starting Monday, January 11, 2021. Work will occur between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Read more...
